The Uncles Were Here

When a favorite niece was getting married, my brother-in-law and I decided we needed to do a practical joke. When we arrived for the wedding, we had 2 1/2 hrs to come us with something to pull off. We decided have our picture taken with a very serious pose. Since we did not have a camera, we went searching for a picture. We finally get one taken and glued it to a poster board with the words, "The Uncles are Watching!" After some detective work, we found out they were spending their wedding night at a bed and breakfast 1/2 hour away. We called the establishment and explained our mission. The proprietor thought sounded great so we drove to the bed and breakfast. She came into the room with us and took our picture placing the poster on the headboard of the bed.

The next day our niece gave us stares that could kill. Her husband explained that he brought her up the the room, carried her over the threshold and went to get the luggage. As he headed down the stairs, he heard a blood curdling scream and a shout, "THEY WERE HERE!"

We have repeated that with family weddings ever since. It has taken some good detective work to find the honeymoon hotel.
